The Bar
The Hurtwood Inn’s bar is also the village pub, and is the perfect place to wind down after a busy day in conference, or to recover after a day tramping through the beautiful Surrey Hills countryside. The bar enjoyed a complete revamp in early 2009, and now has an open log fire, leather settees, even a library room with its own private service counter.
The bar offers a selection of beers, real ales (mostly locally-brewed), spirits and a comprehensive wine list, of which over a dozen are available by glass and carafe. We use two wine suppliers; Hennings Wine Merchants are a family-owned and locally-based business who have supplied us for several years now, while Laytons (part of the Jeroboams Group) are based in London and supply many of the best restaurants the capital has to offer. Between the two, we have access to a great selection of both classic and slightly more unusual wines from around the world, and have therefore been able to put together a terrific list for you to enjoy.
The bar’s food menu features sandwiches, enticing light meals, even sharing plates for small groups. There is also a daily specials board. The same care and attention goes into the bar food as to the restaurant’s a la carte menu
