Refurbished in February 2009, the restaurant is light and airy with a combination of banquette seating, a raised area overlooking the front of the hotel and stripped wooden floors. Here too is an open log fire. Normal capacity is an intimate 34, but the room can be doubled in size for larger celebrations and functions.
The a la carte menu is created using the finest and freshest ingredients, sourced from local producers wherever possible. The duck and chicken are all free range and are supplied by a nearby farm. When it’s in season, we use watercress grown down the road in Abinger, lamb from another local farm, eggs from another, beef and pork from local butchers. The dishes are designed to bring out the best of the ingredients, and we hope you have real trouble deciding which one you don’t want to eat! As the bar is the village pub, so the restaurant also serves the local community, and we pride ourselves in offering excellent food using the finest ingredients at prices that offer real value for money.
