The Hurtwood Inn is ideally placed to explore some of England’s most beautiful countryside. There are local walking and cycle routes through the Hurtwood itself (‘hurt’ being the local name for a ‘whortleberry’, otherwise known as a ‘bilberry’ or ‘blueberry’). In less than 6 miles you can get to Leith Hill Tower, the highest point in the south of England where, on a clear day, you can see as far north as St Paul’s Cathedral in central London, all the way down to the south coast and the English Channel. If that’s not for you, there are several National Trust properties nearby, including Polesden Lacey and Clandon Park, and as Peaslake is only a couple of miles off the A25, it means that access to the old market town of Dorking and the charms of Guildford is quick and easy. Please click on our “Discover The Surrey Hills” link to see what else there is to do and visit in the vicinity. You’ll notice a subtle but distinct motoring theme running through the artwork and literature in both bar and restaurant, reflecting the hotel’s history, the owner’s family heritage and our proximity to both Brooklands and Goodwood motor racing circuits.

Once you have finished exploring the countryside, back at the Hurtwood there is a bar with an open fire place, comfy sofas, even a library room to relax in. There’s a fine array of beers, real ales, wines and spirits to choose from, as well as great bar food. If you are after something a little more substantial, then the a la carte restaurant is where we pride ourselves on providing something a little bit special at incredibly good prices.

Please click on the links below to see a sample of our bar menu, restaurant menu and wine list. We try and source as much as we can from local suppliers and producers, and reflect the current season in some of the dishes on offer whenever possible.
